Operation Alchemy in Bonn - tekno remix

The show takes its inspiration from a journey through the centre of Australia undertaken between May and October 2000 by a group of artists and activists, the Earthdream convoy. While on the road we met traditional aboriginal keepers of desert regions that are being desecrated with uranium mines. We heard about the effects that nuclear testing has had on aboriginal lives and the effects that the nuclear cycle of mines and waste dumps continue to have for everyone including future generations.

Maria evicited from Parliment square plinth. Mc Brian on the Mike.

Granny says. "I'm so proud of these people. They'll take the stand for what they believe in and do it for the young children of the world. I think one of the things you can do to take a wrong turn when you're in your middle years is to just do your job and think only of the money. When all that's over you're going to have a bit of time to think about all the things you did for the same of money and regret them. I'm sure of that. Turn this one up and see if something doesn't happen in your head. "

Maria has been living in a tent as one of Brian Haw's supporters for over 1 year and has been a supporter of Brian since almost day 1 of his campaign. On the 18th Oct '07, Ken Livingston ordered the removal of the tents from the grassy area of Parliament Square. Maria solved this paradox by placing her tent upon David Lloyd Geroge's empty plinth. She was camped on the plinth continuously for 30+ hours...

Video of plinth occupation in Parliament Square (2007)

Granny says. "It's about time some of you younger protesters remembered what a megaphone is and how to use it. I've seen you young folk. Nervously clutching a banner and shuffling about timidly giving out leaflets. You lot get embarrased unless you are chaining yourselves to running machinery surrounded by 1000 police officers. Well it's time to remember that just being a loud opinionated person cal also cause a great deal of annoyance!"
