Mutant Media Artwork at the BasementMutant Media Artwork from Operation Scrub It and Doodledubz Check out more of their work here. Media is not just what you see on the TV and read in the newspapers. Media can be made by yourself with no compromise. The 3 week exhibition entitled the “Mutant Media Freak Show” will run from the 27th April to the 12 May. The themes for Mutant Media Freak Show events are Underground media, Anti-nuclear art activism, and pro-change “Mutate and Survive” ideas and Freak culture in general. Augustine Leudar and Brian Benson Experimental audiovisual artists Augustine Leudar and Brian Benson create bizarre sound installations and music that featured previously at Squat parties, the Czech National gallery and the John Peel show. Leudar's fairytale soundscapes combine with Benson's dark surreal art to form a surround sound tunnel through which listeners have to wriggle . Operation Scrub It Collective - http://www.osi.yaya23.net/ “We are a small group of graff artists on a mission to spread positive / friendly / politicised /deranged / random messages on the surfaces we come across. “ The work of the OSI collective is chiefly to be seen on walls and underpasses. However for the duration of the Mutant Media exhibition they will be transforming the Basement cafe in to their vision on reality. “Street art Do not limit yourself. You can use virtually anything to get a message / image out there: Flypost pen drawings or paintings, stickers, paint bombs, blackboard paint + chalk, draw on gaffa tape, police cars, supermarket products, road signs, billboards, prison walls, embassies, corporate headquarters etc. Do what you can with what you got.” This is the DoodleDubz Art Collectives Blog page Puke the Nuke |
